From Brian @ SS/BS: it's a version that i believe was just prior to when i started making them in the current layout. it's got a similar sound (the older ones were a little more "vintage" sounding and the newer ones are a touch more "modern" is the best way to describe things) to the older ones but with some of the newer features like the gate switch. if you're on bass it will be great. in general, the older ones were excellent on bass but not amazing on guitar and the newer ones have leveled that out a bit - still excellent on bass but better on guitar, a little more gain and overall high end clarity."
