Details

Spector Forte in mint and excellent condition. The Forte was only used for a few weeks. This bass has been upgraded from Aguilar DCB pickups to EMG-35PX and a EMG35JX. The preamp is the stock Darkglass Tone Capsule. This bass is a beast, the combination of the EMGs with the Tonecapsule is killer. As part of the sale, I'm also adding another EMG 35JX. You can keep the bass with the current pickup configuration or change it to a J/J. The hardcase is included. Do not hesitate to contact me for any questions. Go to my Reverb page for more pics. I'm having issues uploading some pics to TalkBass. Spector Forte 2021 Nightshade | Karlo's Gear Garage | Reverb

The sleek Forte Series represents the essence of the classic Spector design. Each Forte body is handcrafted from select North American Swamp Ash, a tone wood that is revered for its lightweight and resonance. The Swamp Ash body wings are paired with a 3-piece North American Maple neck and 24 fret Pau Ferro fingerboard. This recipe of Maple & Pau Ferro goes back to the early days of Spector and is proven to provide excellent note definition and clarity. As for hardware, each Forte instrument features our lightweight locking bridge for solid, long lasting intonation, high-precision tuners and Dunlop strap locks. Forte instruments provide rich, organic tones with plenty of growl on tap.

How do the DCBs and EMGs differ in this particular bass?

That preamp has no "highs" adjustment? How does that work in practice? Is it at all possible to do a rounder / muted highs tone?

EMGs are associated with the traditional Spector sound. These are the X-Series, which are active pickups with the feel of a passive. EMGs on a Spector are a must.

You can muted highs on this bass. It’s just that the bass has a high mid knob instead of a traditional treble. That’s how the Tone Capsule was designed. Here is a demo of it on different basses:
