Up for sale is my Spector Pre-LX Euro 4 string. This one has gone around Talkbass a bit and is known and loved. It has solid maple wings, EMG pickups, and the MM114 preamp. If you've been around Talkbass, it's the Spector that people call the "freak" because it sounds very close to an NS2 US Spector. It's the dark blue flame top (pretty!).
It seems each owner gives it a little more TLC. The owner before me had some fretboard work done, put on Gotoh tuners, and bought a Spector case for it. I felt I wasn't getting as much from the neck pickup so I had the pickups balanced the preamp all rewired.
I'll tell you, it sounds great....it's just not the sound for me. You know how you get a fancy bass and you try to "make it work"? My band plays classic and country rock. I for the life of me could not tame this puppy down enough to make it work.
It has normal wear from being used all these years. I tried my best to take pictures of most significant wear, which is still hardly anything for a bass this old and this loved. It's all cosmetic In general I tried to take decent pictures. I couldn't get all the flash glare out so I just multiple angles.
So...no point in it sitting on my wall. I'm not looking to profit on it so I'm just asking for what I paid + shipping. I'll eat the cost of doing the electronics. $1,160
