Details

This fabulous Stambaugh 6-string is just not getting played much at all at home (and not at all on gigs), so I need to sell it to someone who will appreciate and love/play it! This was a $3,200+ bass when it was built in 2010, and more than $2,300 when I purchased it less than two years ago, and here are the specifications/details:

Body material - Mahogany, with a gorgeous bookmatched flame/spalted walnut top, and matching headstock.

Neck-through construction - 5-piece maple-purpleheart-flame maple-purpleheart-maple.

Fingerboard - beautiful birdseye "blister maple" (extremely rare) with MOP position markers and a beautiful MOP "double fishhook" at the 12th fret ... There is a nice ebony neck binding, which is matched by a thin sandwich layer of ebony between the body wings and the top.

32" scale length with 26 medium frets .... due to the strings-through-body bridge, the B-string is very "tight"

16.5mm string spacing at the bridge.

Genuine bone nut @ just under 2.12" width.

Aero "slim bucker" pickups with Macassar Ebony pickup covers.

Matching Macassar Ebony control knobs.

18v. Bartolini preamp with the following controls - Volume (w/push-pull active-passive control); Pickup Blend; Treble; Midrange; Bass; plus Midrange Select toggle switch (250/500/800 hz).

All Hipshot black hardware, including Ultralite tuners.

Bass is extremely well-balanced and weighs just a hair less than 8.9 lbs.

Stambaugh/TKL hardshell case that fits the bass beautifully.

There are a few minor surface "dings", but they are small blemishes (no chips, gouges, or anything of the sort)!

See photo gallery below .... please feel free to PM me with any questions.

ya, absolutely..not to be annoying, but any sound clips/youtubes on this one? I've always liked Chris's work and I'm shopping around for a 6'er

There may be some clips of me playing this bass live at the 2014 edition of Gerald Veasley's Bass Boot Camp. I know that one soli performance and a duet that I did with my wife were recorded there.

However, you may be too late on this bass, since I received a firm cash offer this morning from Kyle Matthews (he is a monster bassist in Southern California). I would actually much rather ship it to Connecticut ... or even better, deliver it to you in person.

Doug
