It's time to part with this head. What we have here is a '69ish Sunn 200s. I can check and confirm what the date is on the QC label when I take some more photos. I've had it about 5 years now, and it has been used sparingly in that time, as I usually rely on its big brothers, the 2000s. It sports two RCA 6550s which I've been informed (from the previous owner) are still pretty healthy. Recently replaced the phase inverter with a NOS RCA 6AN8A. This is one of the versions that sports a 5AR4 rectifier, though that can be swapped for a SS version. 16 & 8 ohm stock taps. In my time it has not needed to see a tech. It DOES have a two prong cord still and the polarity switch is still in the circuit. This has never caused any issues for me, it works perfectly fine, but it's something to be aware of, and something the buyer would likely want to have serviced (it's usually a very quick and cheap procedure). As for the sound? Well, it's a Sunn 200s, and it sounds just like it should. I've used it for funk, jazz, and rock, and it does them all well. Sounds just like the big brother, just a little quieter, and will get into breakup a lot sooner (that roaring drive). All knobs work for their full range, both Hi and Lo switches function. Condition: Pretty Decent. Is it the cleanest ever? No. There are two spray painted band names on the underside (Firesign, and Children, they were there when I purchased it) though you'll never see those. Some nicks and scrapes in the tolex, to be expected for an amp of its age. Grill is pretty clean, shows some color shift from stock due to age, but no damage. Front plate is pretty clean, there's some gunk I'll work on removing before it sells, as well as giving the tolex a general good scrubbing.
No trades, only looking for an outright sale. Also prefer not to ship, so if you're up or down the I-5 corridor in Washington, you're in luck. I will ship, but the buyer will need to cover the cost. I'll post more photos in the coming days to give a better view of it, but in the mean time, here it is with its siblings.
