Annnnd it's done...
A real deal classic amp, pre-Fender red face Bass 350. Top-shelf tube preamp, simplified and sweet EQ. Tap-able Send to another amp, other destination, and you can still use the amp's own power section. It's a very capable, solid-sounding and virtually bullet-proof amplifier, runs happily down to 2 ohms for around 450 watts. Steve W. Rabe produced a potent weapon in a small box with this one...
You've either had one or read about it, and it's all they say it is. Sits beautifully in a live mix, gives you the sound of you and your bass with little by way of signature. Don't be a fool... (juuuuust kidding!) Even if I am...
Disclosure:
I purchased it and subsequently had it on the bench for a checkup. It had taken a hit at some point in it's life: there was a ding in the case on the power section side, toward the back of the case. The power section was knocked loose and the case was perilously near the 120v fuse holder. This has all been addressed by an over-qualified amp tech/35-year electronics engineer. It was then given a thorough going-through and sprucing-up, and she's now in excellent shape with a clean bill of health. The price is reflecting the work, I can account for what was done.
The need for money (disappointing, I do really like this amp) means this is on the block for $300 plus shipping to the lower 48, and I get a pretty sweet deal via UPS so don't be afraid if you're far from 02917.
Thanks for looking in, and if you buy it (PayPal or Venmo) I'll be sure and pack it up for the Samsonite Gorilla and a long flight of steel stairs.
