I have an early one (no internal fan) too. I used it on thousands of gigs without incident before going ampless. These are true workhorses. Best wishes.
That looks new! I had a 400-S for a few years. Such a workhorse and I really took advantage of the bridge option. Great design, especially for the time.
I had the SM500(?). Such a great amp. I remember going to the SWR factory in Sylmar on my lunch break to get a new flat head screw for the front panel. They were gracious and friendly. I traded it for a Mesa Boogie Bass 400+. I don't have either of those amps anymore. GLWTS.
The true significance with this amp is that it is VERLY early.
No red outlines and not Sylmar, but the Sun Valley shop!

I can't ever seem to let go of the SM-400S that I bought used around 2002. It was the second "real" bass amp that I ever owned and served me well as my only amp for many years. Cool to see this super early example.
I had one just like that 28 or so years ago. GREAT amp. Bought it second hand in Nashville along w a new Henry 8x8 cab. Sold the amp but still have the cab! The EQ on this one continued on in later versions and is very flexible.
