One rare Trace Elliot V6 for sale. Serial number seems to indicate the unit was manufactured in 1989. This amplifier is in excellent condition, close to mint in my opinion, however, not brand new. As some of you know the carpet covering on these vintage Trace Elliot amps are prone to become fuzzy quite easily. The carpet covering on this one is still tight.
This amp is incredibly loud and powerful. It gives you that desired tubey thick bottom and sparkling top end. 400watts into 2ohms or 4ohms.
This amplifier has been serviced by Ontario Audio Video in Brampton Ontario (authorized Peavey/Trace Elliot/Ampeg technicians) and has been given a clean bill of health. Due to some hiss it was originally thought the power tubes were on the way out, hence, new matched tubes from the Tube Store were purchased and installed by Ontario Audio Video. In the end a cracked potentiometer was the "main" culprit. Ontario Audio Video claims the original tubes still needed to be replaced.
A couple of the chrome corners of this amplifier have started to tarnish a bit. These corners can be replaced, however, I opted not to do so. Personally, I believe keeping the amp all original as much as possible is better.
What's included:
-Trace Elliot V6 (400w version)
-Installed matched sextet of Sovtek KT88's (brand new and recommended by the Tube Store for this amp)
-The original sextet of Trace Elliot KT88's (These test like new on my Mercury Tube Tester for what it's worth)
-Documentation from Ontario Audio Video
Take advantage of the opportunity to make this unique vintage piece of gear yours. It will only get more collectable as time goes on.
