Gorgeous fully carved Tyrolean double bass.
No label.
Very old - guessing 1860s by the tuners, darkness of wood inside and wear.
Has ebony fingerboard, taipiece, nut & saddle. Aluminum height adjusters.
Repair inscription 1933. Probably when neck block and bass bar installed.
New bridge, soundpost and endpin in 1990.
All seams and cracks are sealed. Bass feels good & solid. Sounds spectacular.
Set up for orchestra but presently strung with Spiros.
I will upload a sound bite if I can figure it out (sorry not so tech savvy these days).
Measurements:
72" overall
42.5" body
42" scale
21" top bout
1.5" middle
25.25" lower bout
8.75" total side
Price: $5500 USD
Thanks
