For sale Upgraded Sire V9 5 String 2nd Generation

For sale is this Sire V9 5 string second generation bass in brown sunburst with upgraded Hipshot Ultralite tuners.

Not only does it look beautiful (I’ve gotten many compliments at gigs for this one), it plays and sounds killer. It received a full fret level and setup at 30th Street Guitars in Manhattan, so the action can get really low (check the pic). As these are stainless steel frets, that's probably all it'll need for life. The neck is very sturdy with the internal graphite rods.

The tuners have been upgraded to Hipshot Ultralite tuners. Original tuners are included in the sale. Before the upgrade, there was some neck dive. Now it balances wonderfully, and it’s under 9 lbs! Extremely rare for a Sire 5.
(Note: if you decide to reinstall the original tuners, make sure to remove the aluminum sleeves from the tuning peg holes. Hipshot included those so the new tuners can fit nice and tight)

Sound: Check the video. Played in passive mode (I judge a/p basses by the passive tone - active can make it sound like anything. And the Sire pre is just excellent). Bass went direct into Zoom B3 with no effects at all, usb to computer.

Upgrades: Aside from the tuners, I changed the bridge springs to ones with more tension. One of the stock ones didn’t have enough and buzzed. Turns out changing the springs really affects the tone. In this case, the notes seem to pop out more with more fundamental.

Some scuffs, buckle rash, and scratches from use, but no chips, and nothing noticeable from the crowd. It’s really beautiful.
