Jonathan and I were in contact for several months on this sale as we waited and hoped for everything to fall into place. During that time we enjoyed some interesting and informative banter and we were both really pleased when the stars aligned and we were able to close the deal.
Jonathan is a great guy to deal with. 100% open and honest. I have no hesitation at all recommending him as either a buyer or a seller. Hope we might do business again at some point in the future.
Thank you!

Neal is very open and communicative, a great seller to work with.
We swiftly agreed a deal. The bass was shipped within 24 hours and arrived in great shape. Condition is immaculate, as implied in the listing.
Neal also followed up to make sure everything was as it should be on arrival of the bass.
This was a perfect TB transaction. I received first-class service in all respects. Absolutely a highly recommended seller. Would definitely buy from again.
Great TB-er to deal with. Bass arrived with an unusual and unexpected problem. Seller was very supportive and openly communicative while I resolved the issue with the manufacturer. Very pleased with what was a >$4k transaction and would definitely and happily do business with again. Thank you!!

Joe made a fair offer for my bass. We had multiple communications, all undertaken in a friendly and detailed manner.
Joe came to pick the bass up in person. He's a very cool guy to deal with and a serious bassplayer! He will certainly do this very special bass justice.
Thank you very much for an exceptionally smooth and pleasant deal, Joe.
Best wishes and good luck!

I've been buying, selling and trading basses for over 40 years. I don't take leaving negative feedback lightly. In this case, however I feel other potential buyers need to be aware and wary.
This bass was presented as an almost mint instrument. It was listed both here on TB and on Reverb. The Reverb listing showed some light winding marks on the board, the TB listing does not show these (tiny little warning flag due to inconsistencies in listings?). The TB pics show the bass as literally gleaming. Not a single blemish or sign of wear apart from the detached lid stay on the hard case.
Seller would not move as penny on his price but, once we had agreed a deal including shipping he got fairly detailed for a couple of communications up to the point of a tracking number being issued. We had discussed the hard case vs a gigbag. I opted for the gigbag on the proviso that the bass was well packed in a decent box. (I have limited storage space and use bags for all my instruments).
The packing job was appalling, almost the worst I have seen in 42 years plus of buying, selling and trading. Bass shipped in a gigbag as agreed. The box was oversized, floppy, appeared to have been well used on several previous occasions and arrived squashed-looking. The gigbag had no protection around it at all. The box had some loose bits of cushioning materials in it but nowhere near enough to fill the voids around the bag. So there was very little protection - just the thickness of the gigbag floating around loose in a mostly empty, big, soft old box.The gigbag is a fairly basic ProTec thing.
On opening the box I immediately saw the gigbag had no protective bubblewrao around it and what cushioning materials there were inside the box were all gathered up in one corner of the box. On opening the gigbag and checking the bass over it was evident the bass/treble pot had suffered either an impact or had traveled for at least some of the journey underneath a heavy-ish weight. It was loose and askew. The bass track in particular was very noisy and thumpy in operation. To back up the weight/impact in transit theory there are two small chips in the very end of the epoxy board finish under the E and A strings. There was also a little epoxy "dandruff" at the end of neck which suggested there'd been some friction between strings and board. I can't understand why anyone would ship a bass of this caliber with no padding between the strings and board. I generally put a layer of foam sheeting or similar to protect boards and frets from getting repeatedly beaten or abraded in transit when shipping. Finally there is a small but noticeable chip in the very end of the headstock. This is obviously old damage. The wound is somewhat oxidized. Not a big deal, probably not something to affect the value of the bass to all but the most picky of buyers but definitely something that needs to be mentioned on a listing up front, especially when you're being asked to pay top dollar with a non-negotiable price.
As soon as the bass arrived and was unpacked I told Adam about the damaged pot as I wanted him to be aware that there were problems right away. He responded "okay". Next day I sent a more detailed analysis of the situation including details about the epoxy chips and headstock ding. No response. 3 days passed and I sent a chaser. I also contacted Zon direct for a replacement pot. (No sign of Adam taking on this responsibility so I figured I would have to get the ball rolling myself). Adam did respond at this point offering to send a "few hundred" back to me. Fair enough I thought. 10 days passed with no word. I sent a chaser . Silence.... New Year came and went. Jan 4th I sent a revised offer having reviewed the damage, put it into perspective and looking to simply recover a bit of recompense. I revised my request down to $150. Sod all by way of a response. On the 12th I wrote saying last chance for him to pay before I "write up my report". Total silence ongoing.
Frankly this is an attitude issue as much as it anything else. The pot cost me $34 including shipping (not cheap but I wanted the exact correct spec part from the builder - seems fair to me!). $34 for the pot, $25 to get it fitted and then $90 to cover the epoxy and headstock dings. Seems a very reasonable $150 to me, especially as none of this would likely have happened if some care and thought had gone into the packaging. The chips in the epoxy are small. You have to look very closely to see them and they are purely cosmetic. The headstock chip is annoying. As if he tried to hide it or just didn't check the bass over properly.
The bass is amazing - every bit as good as I had hoped. It should just have been presented fairly, accurately and honestly and, following issues and assuring me that I'd get paid some amount of recompense to then just cut off communication and ignore my messages is insolent at the very least.

Mike remembered my interest in his rare slant Epi UL-210 from a while back when I was interested but he decided not to sell. When the time came to part with it he messaged me and we quickly worked out a deal. Shipment was fast, cab was well packed, condition was better than expected. Definitely a recommended TB'er to deal with. Thank you Mike!
