First time I've ever received any negative feedback in 15+ years selling online and completely uncalled for.
Buyer wanted reimbursement for a screw that stripped on an instrument that was just set up by one of the greatest tech's anywhere. No screw should ever be stripped out on an instrument. If you strip it you don't know what you're doing. If it looks seized or rusty, (it was not) you have to take appropriate actions. You also have to know what kind of tools to use.
This user gave me negative feedback which was completely uncalled for.
I had this bass for about 10 months, bought it from the original owner who never played it out. I took it to one of the greatest techs in the world at Rudy's music in Manhattan and had it set up right before I sold it. There were absolutely no issues with this bass including whatever pickup screw this guy is talking about.
If you can't get a screw out of a pick up, then you should take it to a real tech. If you don't know what you're doing and you're gonna break things. You can't go back to the seller and ask for reimbursement for a screw and tools! That's ridiculous very petty and quite pompous. This is not Guitar Center. This is an online group of people who choose to skip the corporate markups for the opportunity to buy and trade unique instruments to each other— we are selling and buying used instruments sight unseen. There are going to be at the very least some occasional unknown imperfections that exist. We are all hard-working, musicians, and avid lovers of bass and that's why we're here. Not to get flamed and get negative feedback because things didn't go your way. I just had this thing gone over meticulously. There is no possible way the screw would break. I also had my tech adjust the pickups and they were perfect. I've been at this for 30 plus years and I can't believe this guy would like to press this issue. I have about 18,000 screws laying around I would've just sent this guy screw. I do some of my own work as well, but when I'm face with something that looks like it requires a real professional tech, I take it to a professional tech!

That bass is freaking mint and again I stress, hard, one of the greatest techs in the world who has set up Guitars for Alex Skolnick, Joe Satriani, and Jeff Beck did the work on this bass and I can assure you every screw was fine. This person doesn't know what they're doing and should not be handling fine instruments. Anyone who says they do their own work usually do not know what they're doing. I've purchased over 30 instruments alone from people who said they did all their own work. All of them were completely messed up and almost unplayable. If you want to try to work on your own instrument, you go at your own risk. Should've taken it to a tech and that cat would've had the tools and knowledge not to mess it up in the first place. Thanks for the negativity. I have never had any negative feedback in 15 years on TB, CL, eBay, Reverb, FB Marketplace and Poshmark! This needs to be adjusted. I take this very seriously.
