Where did it come from? Also, it lacks neck stamp which was common for the late 60's. Any idea what year it could be?

It was on a home built bass i bought and it was the only good part on it You are correct about the stamp and im not sure why this wasn't stamped although this article might help expain this. http://www.guitarattic.com/Fender Serial Numbers.htm The description in this article leads me to believe that this neck would have been produced between 67 and 74 since they went with the 3 bolt design in 75 read paragragh 3 in this article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fender_Jazz_Bass
Hope this helps
