Details

As new. Custom ordered by me to be a truly sawed off 5er. This stealth elf is exactly what a 34” 5er would be if you cut off the neck at the 8th fret.... open tuning is G-C-F-Bb-Eb, so that at the fret marked with 2 dots (which "would be" the 12th on a 34" 5er, it's BEADG..... and takes any regular bass strings. 19mm bridge spacing. Bart hum canceler J/passive. Weighs about 5 lbs and fits easily in a suitcase within its’ soft mando case. Impeccable neck through build with black limba body/ nice birdseye maple FB. Dunlop locks. I bought this to force myself to become more comfortable high up on the neck, mainly playing chords, and as an extraordinarily convenient travel instrument; not only is it a breeze to carry in checked or carry-on baggage, but it can be played while sitting on board :). It definitely fit the bill, but a few months later I got silly and bought 2 Kiesel headless wonders as well. GAS is a wicked mistress. I paid 1399 USD + tax. Looking to trade for gear +/- cash… Mainly looking for a head with strong preference given to Mesa, GK, Genzler , Aguilar., Quilter....or a light rackable power amp... also open to a Phil Jones combo..... modulation/synth/ preamp pedals...not looking for any bass trades. Whatcha got?? For now/obvious reasons, I have to ship from within Canada but since this is made in the USA there'd be no duty shipped to the US. I can receive trade items in the US.

Quick Q on the tuning... G C F Bb Eb?

So sorry I had a brain cramp....Yes-the open tuning is G-C-F-Bb-Eb, so that at the fret marked with 2 dots (which "would be" the 12th on a 34" 5er, it's BEADG.

Nice...wish I played 5 strings...I'm looking for one of these but I only play 4s or 6s...I never felt comfortable on a 5 (its me, not any else...)

I'm kinda tempted. What's the actual overall length? Wish I had anything to trade - would you consider outright purchase? Curious question - did you ever try to detune it or bring it to an E just to see what would happen?

Did you post your Kiesel's anywhere as eyecandy?

Sorry for the delay-just seeing this. It's 21" overall length. I haven't messed with the intended tuning, but the standard set of 5 bass strings is designed to be at G-C-F-Bb-Eb on this, so it plays and sounds just like a 34" 5er tuned BEADG except for the open string tones.
