Stambaugh SC5. It is a 9.5 out of 10 in cosmetic condition and plays and sounds wonderful. It has a very powerful yet focused lowend with that famous mid burp only Bartolini electronics can give. String spacing is set at 18.5 mm although it is adjustable.

Can it get much narrower than that? (I like 17 or 17.5)

How would you describe the focus and tone of the B string? (They're rarely a perfect match for the higher strings, are they?)

Yes. This Schaller bridge is extremely adjustable. It can do from about 16mm to 20mm string spacing. You can see that on the photo with a close up of the bridge the saddles have a lot of distance between them. The tone of the B is extremely focused. All notes sound very even with plenty of sustain.

Im only interested in fretted 5 or 4 string basses. I tend to gravitate toward traditionally styled and voiced basses. Having said that Id consider anything. Let me know what u got.
