Amp Rack Help

So I have an order in for a Greenboy Dually that is going to be covered in duratex in Lucky Green (http://www.sherwin-williams.com/hom...rs/paint-colors-by-family/SW6926-lucky-green/).

I will be using this with an SVT-7 Pro, and want an amp rack to protect the amp and make it easier to carry.

I originally thought the Emerald Green would look good as it would kind of match, but now I'm wondering if I should just go black instead of having two different tones of green.

Does anyone know of someone who custom makes something like this? I suppose I could also always just make it myself, and then I can duratex it in the same color. If I take that route, any suggestions on where to buy the corner covers, handle, feet, actual rack itself?

Why not have your builder do one while he has the same shade of Duratex?

Well, that was a pretty obvious thing that I never considered lol. He's pretty booked up at the moment, but it won't hurt to ask.

Yeah, a rack shouldn't be that hard of a build, and it would solve your problem. Or you could look for a suitable rack that was 'paintable' rather than something with a plastic shell.

If that doesn't work for you, don't go for another green. go for black, or something complimentary. Nothing worse than something that 'nearly' matches or 'sort of' matches.

If I wasn't going to give away my lucky green duratex to whomever buys my stuff, I would have already sent it to ya, Laz. Unfortunately for you, having the spare paint makes it a selling point for me. If you lived closer, you could swing by and I'd help. You may have to pony up some money to order it. I think mine was around $75 for the duratex, custom tinting (green), an extra order of rollers, and shipping.

Well I haven't looked into it that much, but I assumed since I wouldn't need a lot I could find a smaller amount of duratex for less money. However if I were to build it myself, since I have none of the existing parts, I imagine it would probably cost a lot more than what a black one from Carvin would cost.

If You're wanting to go the DIY route, They aren't difficult to make. I made this one a few years back, ordered the corners, feet, and rack rails from parts express. I am probably gonna make another one soon, allowing My replacement 7 Pro doesn't get "jack-hammered" in shipment like the first one did....

If you don't own the necessary tools to do a good job, that Carvin is a good deal. I'd thought about buying one of them, but it wasn't deep enough for my Ampeg B2R.

Just buying decent components to fabricate the case will almost cost what Carvin charges, and you get a clean build.

You could just duratex that carvin head rack, I guess. Maybe carvin would build you one w/o tolex if you asked them, since they're custom builds anyways

Yep. Leland is a good source, also Reliable Hardware is another source of DIY rack stuff that should be familiar to the fEARfulite.
