I can buy a 1990's Ampeg SVT Classic bass amp & 8 10inch cabinet used for $2300. The amp has just had new tubes intalled . Any suggestions?

I think that's at least $500 too high. If you are buying it out of a store, that explains the marked up price. SVT CL used should be $1300 or less, 8x10 $500.

Price is a little too high. $1800 seems like the right ballpark, although I think you might be able to get a VR at that price range.

There are several Ampeg 810s around here in the $500 range. And, at least a couple of weeks ago, there were at least 2 SVT CLs on Guitar Center Used Gear for $799. And one here at the Roseville GC that was marked at $899. And Roseville GC has a mint 810 for $619.

I would definitely say that $2300 sounds WAY too high.

Guitar Center used site SVT. 600-800 dollars usually. That comes with a 30 day return policy.

Used 810 Ampeg cab 500-600 dollars everywhere used. Craigslist etc.

You would be dropping a grand more than you really need to. Not a deal at all.

I paid $1200 for a mint and almost untouched 2003 SVT-CL and SVT610HLF last time I bought an Ampeg rig. $2300 for that is insulting.
