I could feel something was moving inside my WA-head. When I opened it up and searched for the problem and found the transformer slightly loose. It shouldn't move, should it?

Tighten the bolt that runs thru it to hold it down.

I figured so. Could that in some way have been the reason my amp acted up the other week, sounding weak and not verk loud for the first ten - fifteen minutes of rehearsal?

Not likely. Sounds like dirty jacks (or a loose multipin connector) or perhaps a weakening tube.

I use my Walkabout with 1 or 2 GS112's. I prefer the sound with 2 because it does not need to work as hard but it is a very portable setup (I use the walkabout bag in spite of it's overly snug fit.

Just got home from a show where I filled in using my Walkabout through my NV610 with a heavy hitting drummer and a guitarist playing a cranked 100 watt custom Plexi copy through a huge old Orange 4x12 stack. Only vocals and bass drum through the PA in a large/cavernous bar room. The Walkabout sounded huge and tight (thanks to my new fDeck HPF) and didn't even break a sweat headroom-wise. Man I love this amp! Making me second guess my need for the DB750 I just bought (though my main band will have an even heavier mix to work around). One of the highlights of the night was our one cover- "Southern Girls" by Cheap Trick. The grit and punch from the amp were just perfect!

I'm pretty happy with it. Pretty old school. Not a hifi sound at all.

Just got my last WA and the transformer was loose in it also! Snugged it up with no problems.
