a friend is considering shipping an old Kustom 2x15 cab to me (from LA to Nashville)--anyone have experience with this?? Time is no concern--what's the least expensive?? I heard that Greyhound was a good option...
thanks

Never used Greyhound. Since you're both near Forward Air terminals, look into that. With Forward Air, the shipper drops the package off at their local terminal and you pick it up at yours. Don't let the name fool you, it goes buy truck but LA to Nashville would only take 3 or 4 days...

I've used them a number of times...a couple Acoustic folded horns to Cleveland and Florida and an Ampeg 8x10 to San Francisco. Excellent experiences all three times. In 2002, it cost something like $45 to ship the Ampeg from Chicago to San Francisco...darn cheap!!!

Fed Ex Ground is pretty cheap as long as your not sending to a business. That's how I send my cabs...

yeah, i use fed ex too and like them--but are they good for big boxes like that?? i just sent a ampeg v4b (in a really big box, it's all that would fit that wide head) and it was $95 to WA--steep!!!
