RH450 Rocked my Church!!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunday, March 22, 2009

I brought the RH450 along with the RC4 footswitch and the 2x12 cab to to my weekly worship and shook the foundation of the church. All of the other musicians were shocked that a package so small had such a big and clear sound, the highs were sweet and seemed to blossom without being harsh when slapping. The bottom was focused and thick without being boomy or muddy. I actually had to be careful of my volume. All this without even the need to plug into the house!!!

The thing that was so amazing is that I walked into church from the parking lot carrying the 2x12 with one hand.... the RH450 by the handle in the other... though it fit inside my gig bag's pouch. I carried my Lakland 5-string over my shoulder armed and dangerous!!! LOL! They could've had seat belts in the pews to keep people strapped in!!! The RH450 & 2x12 handled my low Bb like buttah! LOL!!!!! People danced and shouted and felt the power of bass in a way they had not heard or felt it before. The RH450 really made a profound difference in the sound of our music ministry!!!! All the musicians were floored!!! The entire congregation was caught up in the prophetic flow. Nobody left the church the way they came and many of them commented about they way the RH450 sounded!!! They said it sounded "World Class!"

That is what I'm talking about!!!! I don't ever want my equipment to get in the way of me being free to express myself musically!!! I don't ever need to have my confidence shaken as to whether or not my equipment is going to fail me. I've had some very well known rigs fail me in the past and I don't need to have that fear hanging over my head while I'm ministering on the bass. I often times say Bass is not just a frequency..... It's a serious responsibility!!!! We bass players are the glue that holds the groove together!!!! All our other bandmates are standing on the foundation we lay!!! They need to be sure of us!!! We need to be sure of our equipment!!! Everything that I have seen and experienced of the RH450 is top notch! World Class!!! I'm loving it!!!!

If drums are the heartbeat of the band.... the bass is the blood!!! We bring the groove to life. How healthy is the music if your rig is on life support! The RH450 breathed life into my music ministry Sunday morning! I'll keep everybody posted about upcomming rehearsals and gigs and how the RH450 does in different musical settings and styles of music. I see no reason to doubt it's ability to "do it again!"

To the brotherhood of Bass!

So far I've been playing in rehearsals and church. I'll be playing in larger venues later this spring and early this summer. I have not needed to use a direct box or use the installed feature on the amp yet. Last year I played at the 105th Anniversary of Harley Davidson using a Peavey Tour 700 Head, an Avatar 2x12 Cab and an SHS 4x10 cab with Eminence speakers. I have both rigs side by side. The RH450 system has less than half the floor space and is just as loud. It is clean... smooth... and dangerous... LOL! What I mean is it has more power than it is rated at. They say 450 watts but with its class D circuitry it can peak to 800!!!! That is some serious headroom!!! Everything about the way they put this system together is extremely well thought out. None of its features are useless. Even the compressor adjusts to the dynamics of each string individually!!! The tube emulation sounds like a classic Ampeg and the head is the same size as my Bible! I literally can carry each speaker in each hand; put the head in my gig bag; and strap my bass over my shoulder. This is the future!!! The future is now!!! I'm hyped!!! I LOVE IT!!!! I love the programmable inputs. My Lakland Five string fretted and fretless has their own settings. My electric upright has its own settings. It is easy to read your settings across a dark stage! I can mute and tune between tracks effortlessly. I can detach the head from the speakers carry it backstage and plug my Iphone and headphones into it and brush up on song arrangements between sets!!! without bothering anybody!!! I can also burn the midnight oil practicing without disturbing the wife & kids! I whole heartedly dig this "Bass System of the Future!!!" The Future is Now with the RH450!!!

I have set the entire rig up in less than 30 seconds!!!! I already have the sound I want programmed into the head so I'm instantly ready to do my thing without any anxiety about my equipment!!! Anyone deciding to purchase this little puppy will be shocked by the way it bites!!!!!!! LOL! You'll not only have a state -of-the-art bass system but you'll have peace of mind. You'll have the confidence in knowing your bass system has your back! It won't let you down.

RH450 + 2x10 & 2x12 Cabs fit in Trunk of Camry!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have rehearsed and played at my church with the RH450 head and either my tc electronic 2x10 or 2x12 cab. This past Resurection Sunday (Easter Sunday) I decided to bring the entire rig to Christian Faith Fellowship Church in Waukegan, Illinois. My biggist surprise came when I went to load the rig in my 2005 Camry SE V6. The entire rig fit in my trunk with room to spare!!! I loaded my two Lakland five strings (Serena is the fretless and Venus is the fretted) and still had room for my 3 bass rack stand as well!!! I loaded my entire rig in less than 60 seconds!

I will be posting the pictures on my myspace later today. I'd rocked the entire church with just the 2x12 alone before but with both cabs together it was almost too much for the church. I never had to turn my gain past 9:00 AM!!! The Power, Clarity, and Convenience of the RH450 is second to none. This is really a well thought out world class bass system. Slapping on Venus was unreal.... it truly brought out the Victa and Marcus side of me! I tune my fretted 5 string Bb-Eb-G#-C#-F#-B and the rig handled a low Bb effortlessly. You could feel it and hear it easily.... It was amazing!

Getting to know the RH450 is like having a relationship. I liked it at first sight but I think I'm begining to fall in love with it. The more I get to know it the more it continues to surprise me! I didnt realize I could load my entire rig in my trunk and still have my back seat free for three across seating!!!

It is too good.... but it is true!!!

After bringing the entire rig back home it only took my 2:00 minutes to set everything back up! This is insanely easy!!! Ingeniously designed!!! Phenomenally great sounding!!!

I'm hearing "Getting to Know You" from the Soundtrack to "The King and I!" :-)

The more you get to know this bass system.... the more you love it!!!

This Bass System is so deep that there is much more to it than what meets the eye. If you do that you'll be like a flat rock skating atop the surface of deep waters. You'll miss the depth of what went into creating this bass system. I have a rig that is twice the size of the RH450 rig but it does not put out more tone, volume or clarity. The RH450 actually puts out more in every category. The big rig was hard work to load and unload. Did not have the presets or built in tuner with remote. The RH450 is actually much more of a bass system.... ALL THAT!!! AND THE ENTIRE RIGG FITS IN MY TRUNK!!!

A local music store had the head, 2x10 and 2x12 setup. Nobody seemed to be interested in them. The salesguy said they haven't sold many. I still think that a simple, single channel with knobs would sell better than the electronic knobs. The last programmable that I can remember was the Ampeg and it ended up being blown out at 20% of the original price.

I have a saying... common sense and common courtesy are not common. The amp is a great amp. I didn't design it. I just have become exposed to it and I'm sharing my experience with it. It has served me well. I guess when you do anything you will have haters but the bass player friends I have are not like that. Bass to me is a brotherhood. We usually are the level headed ones who are the glue that keeps things together. When we get to check out something new and we like it we share it.

With all due respect, my brother, we're not idiots. This is a shameless plug by a compensated endorsee. It's not allowed on this site.

The TC head/speakers look interesting; I imagine they can sound excellent too.

They got my interest, as most new gear does, so I looked at the product and the specs on the site, including the info about the "Test Pilot" program.

And I'm wondering...Did anyone actually expect a selected "Test Pilot" to report or post anything
negative or state any downsides to the gear??

Just wondering....

The only thing I'd like to see changed is when you plug in an external MP3 player you have to use your headphones to hear it. It is cool when you want to practice or learn material without bothering someone else but sometimes I like to feel my practice. It would be a nice addition to have a switch that allows you to control that. Otherwise I stand by what I say about it. It is well thought out. Check out the link on this review...

I am not paid. I have to give this bass rig back. I'm not making a penny with this rig. I have a Peavey Tour 700 Head, An Avatar 2x12, an Eden 4x10 and a SHS Eminence 4x10 cab. What has surprised me about this product is tha it does everything my big rig does at half the stage footprint. I'm sharing my experience just like everyone else.

+1. This test pilot program really backfired.

Backfired? What do you mean? Every review in Bass Player Magazine is done on equipment provided by the company. They then share their opinion. Being able to test something out in a real world environment beyond a showroom is a plus! When you live with a product for a while you get to see what it is really about beyond the first impression. I used to have an Ibanez 1205 that was awesome in the showroom but when I toured with it... it had a dead spot that drove me nuts. I had it tweaked and luthiers worked on it but it was a dud. I did not have a good experience with that bass. That's just one persons experience with one particular bass... I don't see how it is wrong to share information.... Like I said I',m not being paid!!!
