I’m sure this has been done to death but just wanna put my particular situation here and see if anybody has a good list of recommendations. I’ve been using ZS 10 Pro and ZS 12 pro with comply tips for the last few years and I like them, especially for the price. But I just bit the bullet and got some impressions made and I’m considering some custom molded IEM‘s. Would love to stay at or under $600 altogether and looking for something that is going to be a significant step up from the KZ’s in terms of clarity and sound quality. The KZ have nice low end but are pretty scooped and quite a tinny/hyped high end, to my ears.

What say ye oh bass hive mind?

Alclair spires came up on a search, I think @scubaduba recommended them at one point. They’re still a bit above my budget but I’m not sure what you can reasonably expect in the $600, and if they’re gonna that much better than the ZS 10 pro /ZS 12 Pro. I guess I need some more recommendations

I have a pair of ultimate ears (ue7’s I think) that served me well for many years. I think they’re about that price range. UE certainly has a few ears in that range and the quality is good!

I upgraded to JH audio 16’s last year. They’re a big step up in quality and price.

Can’t go wrong with any of the molded offerings in that price range tho.
