TB Effects Forum NOISE Compilation!

For all of the experimentalists and effects whores among us -
let's produce an album of NOIZE!

I'm willing to compile and produce the tracks in my humble home studio and prepare it for distribution. We can discuss the ground rules in this thread and share ideas.

For starters, I'm thinking along these lines:
  • e-mail me one track file in wave format
  • include your notes as to effects used, signal chain, etc. for the Liner Notes
  • one track per forumite
  • an artistic minded forumite (Dan Tulip?) can propose and design the artwork
  • someone with a server can host a zip file for free download of the Mp3s or whatnot

Don't send me anything yet, let's talk first and finalize the format. Ideas? Thoughts?
:bassist:

Oh man, I'm all over this. I've got a Pandora coming in, so I can record some clips onto my PC.

Are we looking for full noise "songs" or just examples of pedal noise, or what?

Needs a name. I'll suggest a few:

Two-Headed Frog: Effected Evolution for the Noise Enthusiast
Plan B
Square Wave Cowboys
Xenoglossia: the Hidden Languages
The League of Sulfur
A Dozen Gypsie Curses
Static Tabernacle
Soothing Sounds for Moral People
A Timely Comeuppance

I'd type more, but I'm on my iPhone, so I won't.

Also, FWIW, I'm an illustrator, and might just be willing to pitch in on that front for my bass bretheren.

Anyone know the legality of that?
I think all that would be needed is a statement that any distribution, etc. from anywhere other than this site (or nad's site or wherever it's hosted) is prohibited without prior permission from those involved. Obviously, that would mean that the the contributors would all have to agree to the statement.

Note that I am not an attorney and have no actual legal training, but I have has some experience with copyright issues and distributions of free 'intellectual property.'

Im in. I've been thinking of doing a new shoegaze/drone/noise/doom delay jam for a little while. Length limit on the track?

As for the art. Im honored that you would think of me.... but I think I'd like to leave it to someone else. One thing I think would be cool is a "Ghosts" type thing with a montage of photoshopped (weird angle?) board shots or something.
