differences Peavey grind and Peavey grind BXP?

I own a Peavey grind 4 NTB, but it seems like this type is discontinued by Peavey since the Peavey site only links to the Peavey grind BXP.

When I compare the specs of both versions it seems like the only differences is the 35"neck the BXP has to the 34"neck of the grind, and the body of the BXP is made from mahogany wood and he grind from imbuia wood.

Yesterday I sold my Peavey grind since I only play on my Fender Jazz Bass these days.

This morning I got a mail back from the buyer, who said I sold him a fake Peavey grind since this one doesn't have the BXP logo and the signature on the head of the bass.

So i looked up my advertisement and found out that Accidently copy-pasted the BXP manufacture specs in my Peavey grind NTB advertisement.

I contacted the buyer and told him that the bass he bought is a real Peavey Bass, but I made a mistake by pasting the wrong versions specs.

So are there any other differences what sets the BXP and normal grind apart? and anyone knows if the BXP is the follow up on the normal grind or the normal grinds are still produced?

Both are Grinds. They don't make the old Grind any more (what I have), has the scooped out section at the lower horn. The BXP replaced the old Grind. BXP is Peavey's import line (both are imported though). From what I have researched some people prefer the older one because of the wood and where it is made and some prefer the newer one. So what you sold him IS A GRIND. He may have been looking for the BXP version though for some reason? By the way I like my GRIND a lot. Second bass I play the most behind my Jazz!

I also got a reply from Peavey costumer support, who basicly said the same thing.
The first Peavey grinds made outside of the US didn't have the BXP logo on them, but they are still just Grind BXP's.

I also got a mail from the store that sold me the bass and they told me they had the serial number on the computer.

they told the serialnumbers is:
I03040898.
With some research i found out that Peavey prints there serialnumbers on decals instead of a permanent marking.
Seems like I lost the decal somehow, since I can't remember removing it from the bass :(

Hello,
Yes the US models were all 35 inch scale the imports did go through a transition from 34 to 35 " scale . All the newer models should be 35 " scale.
As far as the grind bass it sounds like this may be a USA model because we only put the name Grindbass on the headstock and nothing else.
Some basses have stickers on then with the serial number on the sticker. This sticker can come off. Some basses got out without a serial number on them.
If it is a natural finish then it is BXP, and all USA models were painted

Hmm. I did not realize they made a US version of the Grind? I thought they were all imports, interesting. Yea I could not find a serial number on mine either. Mine has the natural oil finish and is not painted. From what I could find out there are some slight diff between the two, not much though. Diff wood and the non BXP has the scooped out section, did yours? Just measured mine and it is a 34" scale

Think we both have a early BXP with the darker wood, scooped bottom horn. 34" neck and only the brand name peavey on the head.

Kinda sucks to convince the buyer it's a real one when it doesn't seem to have a serial number.
But I will send him the mail I got from costumer service.

I have both the dark (Imbuia)and the light (Mahogany).
Both are 35 1/4" scale and neither have the scoop.
One has the BXP logo and one does not.
