FENDER MODERN PLAYER TELE

I don't need this, but I WANT this!
It's funny, I seen this Bass today for the first time and feel the same way ! ! !
I want the down low on the electronics. The line is rather cheap compared even to MIM ps and js. It's interesting to say the least. Gotta hear it.

I can't say I have ever tried, so I don't have the experience like you do. I was just assuming.
That's a hot bass.
I could never get into that tele headstock, on the basses or the guitar. It always seems like something is missing, like someone started out with a jazz headstock then got carried away on the sander.
It's cool to see something different from Fender.

i love tele headstocks, and to me it's not like something is missing since they preceded the strat an jazz bass's larger headstocks, being that the first fenders were teles and single coil p basses.
How about a P-J with a mudbucker near the neck? Double mudbuckers seems like too much mud for me! 
I'm intrigued, but have never spent serious time with "mudbuckers" I am curious about the pickups though, took me years to get find a way to get along with guitar humbuckers, finally found that if I lowered the pickup as a whole, and then raised up the screw pole peices I could get clear tones with some actual snap, but still no hum. Wonder if that would work for these....
I love the look. I do wonder what the pickups will sound like in such extreme locations, though.

I kind of like the extreme pickup positions. At the very least, it will mean a pronounced tonal difference between neck and bridge position.
Really loving the look. I'm a long time Tele player and was recently looking at the Schecter model (forgot the actual name).

The bucker in the bridge actually can cut through pretty well, especially with a 1K volume pot. Add some coil switching, and you've got a good variety of tones. I've got an old SX Jazz that I put a big swimming pool route into so I can test pickups/positions... these reissue Tele pickups in single coil mode sound great in the bridge position!
