I don't own one (played a few), but they play and sound reallý nice IMO.

Maybe a $100-200 overpriced for what they are, but they are good, giggable and fun to play basses.

I really would like "The Wild One Junior" but not until Musician's Friend blows them out for far less than $300... what they had ATK700s for about a year ago.

There's been many threads on here about how cheaply they're made. The taped on pick-guard comes to mind. While I have never played one, I've just heard to many negative things about them. I'm sure they sound great and all that. Also I'm not to wild about those neon and pastel color combinations. I think I'll stick with my Fender and soon to have Carvin.

I would love one, but they are really expensive for what they are..definatly fiun to play though

I like mine. It rarely comes out to gigs with me these days, the G&Ls do that, but it's a fun bass, and actually nice to play. I did the usual upgrade by way of an EMG pickup, and that makes a big difference to the tone. I also had a brass nut put on it, as the stock nut looked like my 5 year old daughter cut it.

Fun bass, and perfectly useable with a few tweaks.

It is indeed a fun bass
with a EMG 35-DC, lower the action as mine came a bit high, and a fresh set of ernie balls and its like a stingray for under £350
it will never get gigged as much as my jazz bass's, but its something i like playing with the band at practice, and at home ..very nice
at first i almost regretted buying it ! but not anymore !
and the orange paint is already wearing (And chipping ) quite nicely .. and its not a nitro finish ! :O

I'm planning on grabbing one for my nephew next year when he turns 5. going to do the 35-dc mod, screw the PG down, install a new graphite nut and a general setup for him.

To me, the "FleaBass"...meaning the bass played by Flea...will always be a black EBMM Stingray with a black pickguard and rosewood fretboard. Yes, he's played many others, but that one is the one I most remember him with. The iconic view if you will.

i agree .. and that is the bass i've thought most famous with him, even if he used modulus' for longer.

Over the weekend I went and watched a gal-pal of mine play a gig with her new band. She plays the small Flea Bass that I always thought sounded really good, and onstage through an SWR with single 15" the dang thing sounded pretty darn good!
