Heart-shaped machine heads?

i searched all over this site and yahoo and could not find how to get, let alone a pic of, the heart-shaped machine heads. i KNOW i have seen them on here and on basses on e-bay but i can not find them now. i would like to at-least see a pic again so i can see if they will match my bass' style. I have gotoh vintage style tuners on now and like the unique-ness of the heart shape...

for those of you who dont know what i am talking about... they basically look like vintage style machine heads but are in a heart shape instead of a "club" shape.

can anyone help? pix, sites to order them, or maybe you are selling them yourself!

Ibanez used heart-shaped tuners on some of their late '70's / early '80's basses - like the Roadster and Blazer series. Are these the ones you mean? If it is, you'll find pictures everywhere, but you'll never find the actual tuners!

If that was my bass, I'd paint those heart-shape tuners with red nail varnish ... and then sell it to a chick .

those are totally them! i like 'em a lot (i am a guy) it may seem un-hetero of me but i like them. so you are saying i will need to buy one of those ibanez' to get those tuners... would ibanez have some "new, old stock" ones maybe? i will mail them tomorrow! anyone else use them? do they keep tune well or are the crappy?

they are still working fine and staying in tune through a gig after almost 30 years.

Love the look of those Roadstar IIs, a pretty cool take on the P bass, the shape kinda reminds me of the Musicians. Don't worry, I too think the heart-shaped tuners look quite hip.

Yeah, I know, ressurecting an old, old thread.

Just wanted to say this bass pushes all the right buttons for me. Or more precisely, plays the right money notes...

I think this and the Yamaha BB headstock are my favourite headstock shapes... I wish Ibanez were currently making a bass that looks like this.
