My New 6 String P-Bass

So last Thursday I got my custom made P-6 from Mario Tremblay (T2W). All I had to do was tune it up and it was perfectly playable. I brought it to two band practices and a big gig on the weekend. It is awesome, the neck is so comfortably. Mario shaped it after an Ibanez BTB neck, its so thin. The pickup was made by Nordstrand and it sounds great. The hardware is from Hipshot. The only thing I wanna change on it are the strings. Its got Ernie Ball strings on it right now but I prefer D'Addario.

I hate to be rude, but give us an idea what that P cost you. I love it, I bet that Nordstrand pickup is great too.

Sweet man! That P just looks "right". And it doesn't stand out on stage as being particularly huge, which is kind of nice, sticking to the whole P vibe.

Although personally I hate that string retainer. I also hate string-through bridges (where you have to pull the string through a hole, not necessarily through the body). YMMV.

After following the entire build in the Luthier's Corner, I have to say I'm so glad that you finally have it and that its everything we suspected it would be. Awesome work, and contains some very creative problem solving, including the string retainer...

Fender should bring out a six string P.

Except for a different body and pickups, it could use the same components as the Steve Bailey Jazz Bass® VI (6-String).

It should also ship strung with flats.

What's the spacing at the bridge on that? That'd be funny to bring to a session with one of those 'where's your Pbass?' type of engineers. Score!

The spacing at the bridge is 16 mm.

Tis a very great bass. I'm most likely biased because its mine but I think the string retainer is badass. We originally ordered a Hipshot 4 string retainer for the headstock but we found out that it was too wide and wouldn't fit. So Mario machined that one outta aluminum.
