NBD - Ibanez Home Delivery

$90 Craigslist buy delivered to my door.

Wanted something different then my same old go to Fender/Squier. Also wanted something "active" for cheap and thought about one of these GSR200s after playing a friends GSR105. I dont play 5's but loved how his felt and sounded, the humbuck is a different beast but I knew the 200 would have that twang/growl of a Gio. And the slim neck.

So this came up and I said what the heck. It was a 18 or so kid who said his parents bought it for him last December but he cant play it anymore due to wrist problems. Told me it hasn’t been touched since February. Has a few scratches but still in almost brand new shape. Has the original (getting rusty) strings and battery. Still has the plastic on the electronics back plate. None of the screws have ever been turned. Ripe for a setup even though its not bad as is. Actually it’s just where I like it, action and intonation are fine. It’s gotta good mojo going on already. :bassist:

Tooled on it for a few and I love it. Neck is sweet. Has that Gio growl and the pickups sound very clean. Cleaner then my Jag for sure. And it’s much more fun to play. I prefer the flatter high radius neck of the Ibanez with the fuller width. Now I just need to decide what I want to string it with. I do like the factory XL’s that are on it. Maybe a fresh set. :)

btw: anyone know a site I can go to find the build date from the serial #?
