I've read a lot of good things about these here, and have always wanted to try one out but have never come across one until now. I was really impressed with it. It was one of those black Guitar Center only models with a maple board. Amazingly, it was actually set up pretty well and the strings were newish...a first for this particular GC.
Anyway after playing it for a while, I can't believe this isn't Ibanez's best selling model. The neck felt pretty great (and I usually don't like Ibanez neck...at least all the BTB and SR necks I've played), wasn't too heavy, good balance, didn't sound as good as a MM but it sounded pretty good, looked cool, the "attack" switch was pretty useless though. Overall a very nice bass. Why anyone would spend more for a new MIM Fender over this is beyond me.
Never thought I'd be GASing for an Ibanez, but I might have to start looking for a used five string.
