I arrayed these in chronological order from left to right across the top and then across the bottom. The oldest one, top left, is circa 1983 (that's the date stamped inside mine anyway). The next two versions came out in the late 80's, maybe up to 1990 I'm speculating. The first one in the bottom row is early to mid 90's, the last two are current production.

The older the better IMO. I know that's a trite cliche, but I believe it's true in this case. There are small differences in the circuits from one generation to the next, although the two dark green ones are nearly identical inside, and the FX25B and GFX25 are nearly identical inside.

The one on the top right is what I have, the one on the top middle is whats ending on ebay in an hour or so.

I put mine in a simple blend loop and found it greatly improved the sound, really taking the spike off the low end of the filter sweep.
