PD-7 VS. Bass Blogger

Just curious if anyone has done any A/Bing on these two distortion pedals. I have a PD-7 but I'm not sure how happy I am with the sound overall. I've got a BBM, and this Bass Blogger sounds like it might be a good option for a milder overdrive sound.

I've also heard some mixed reviews about the ODB-3 so I would definitely like to hear any feedback about either of these pedals vs. the PD-7. And I'd be glad to hear about any other O/D pedals that I would be well-advised to check out as well.

For the record I play heavier rock with touches of metal and I would like something cuts through nicely with a finger-style approach.

I have a PD7. Its pretty rockin. Unfortunately mine has been sitting on a shelf cuz the switch inside has worn out. That is my only gripe with it. That and it didnt do subtle too well.

I need to get it fixed..........

Keep in mind I've already got a Bass Big Muff and a Blowtorch for my fuzzy needs, so I am talking more about a light go-to overdrive sound. I've been checking out sound clips of the ODB-3 and I think I am going to trade my PD-7 in for one of those..

Any thoughts on PD-7 vs. ODB-3?

i found that the blogger (at least the Drive side of it) can react very differently to different basses. I didnt like the tone of the drive sound - i either found it too subtle or too farty, but this farty tone is the key to success, coz in a band mix, you just sound FAT. Also the fuzz side is pretty muff-like. If you want a gritty/'clacky', more attack-driven overdrive the pd7 or odb3 will do the job. But dont count out the blogger.

Also as Malpractice can testify to-The Ibanez tone lok series of pedals, of which the PD-7 is a part, are well known for having temperamental switches. I currently have an SB7 which doesnt always switch.

id say go with the ODB-3 for what you want - it does cut through, and altho opinion is split on it here, i've seen many bassists use it to good effect. Its more a distortion than an overdrive tho IMO

Well I just did trade in my PD-7 for an ODB-3.. I got totally robbed on the deal mind you, but in testing the two side by side I did find I liked the ODB-3 better, largely due to its blend knob which I found quite useful in dialing a more subtle O/D accent. I guess it was time for an upgrade.. but dang it cost me.

yeah thats unfortunate that you got a bad deal, but the ODB-3 will last you a long time (hopefully). I've owned both an ODB3 and a PD7 and prefered the ODB3, I could cut through alot better thanks to both the blend and EQ, i used to have it almost clean and just add in some distorted attack. I've actually got GAS for another one, but im up to the limit for board-space and already have a fair few fuzzes/overdrives.
