Check out this 33" scale Helms: It is modeled after the Fodera Matthew Garrison Signature model and features Helms' own hand-wound pickups. Can anyone tell me what woods these are?

I'm just going to guess, but I would say flamed maple neck, mahogany body with a walnut tone block (unless that's just the maple neck showing) and possibly a spalted alder top. I'm definitely not too sure about the spalted alder, but it does look very similar to an Alleva I saw.

Yeah the seller said it WASN'T spalted maple, told me it was "some crazy wood from Africa" lol
The switch allows the 2 single coil Helms pickups to be run together as one big humbucker. (the middle cover is just a ramp)
I have an email in to Josh asking about the woods, I hope to hear back soon.

I am extremely giddy about this bass! :hyper: Now I need to sell a few!

How do they sound to you?. Is the bass passive or you have a preamp?.

I'll tell you better how the pickups sound once I get it :D
The bass has a Seymour Duncan preamp in it. Controls are Volume, Blend, Stacked Bass/Treble, Series/Parallel switch

Shipped out today, will be here Monday :bassist:
