I'm a lefty, thats tough for me, harder to find good deals on clubs as often as my righty counterparts. I usually shoot in the high 30s-low 40s on 9. So 80ish on 18. Pretty good. I played varsity throughout high school and was bounced between 2nd and 3rd on the team. I play on some 2006 Callaway Big Bertha irons, Callaway Steelhead driver, and an oddesy white hot putter. Play on strata balls.


As far as watching, I'm a huge Sergio fan. And I've got to love Mickelson because, well, he's a fellow lefty.

I love to play, can work my way through a course with no problem, but I'm not very good. I'm usually around high 90's low 100's for 18. But, I still like to play and hopefully with time I'll get better.

I'm currently using Adams GT2 Undercut irons, Callaway Great Big Bertha II Driver, Callaway Steelhead 3 Wood, and some odyssey 2 ball knockoff putter.

I live across the street from a nice golf course. I play once in a while to fill out a foursome, maybe 3-4 times a year. I SUCK but I have fun :) I can keep the ball on the fairway most of the time but the course has a LOT of water :rollno: I'll go through a dozen balls or more in 18 holes :mad:
I have a custom made persimmon driver that one of my customers had made for me. I can SMOKE the ball off the tee with it. It goes a mile, sometimes down the fairway :p

I play as much as I can. Usually not so well. I shot an 86 once, but most often I'm around 100 or 105. It's still enjoyable as long as I hit a few good shots. My wife gave me a trip to TPC Sawgrass for my 40th birthday, and I'm really looking forward to playing that course, especially the 17th hole. I played Pinehurst #2 a couple of years ago, right after the U.S. Open had been there. All the viewing stands were still up. I shot 101 with six greens in regulation.
I recently got the new Cobra driver, which has made the game a lot more fun, at least when I put a good swing on it. I never thought I could hit the ball that far. Other than that, I've got my trusty Adams fairway woods, Ben Hogan irons and an Odyssey putter. I don't get G.A.S. for golf clubs the way I get it for bass guitars, that is for sure!
I really like watching golf on TV. I find it can be as exciting and compelling as any other sport. The final round of the British Open a couple of weeks ago was pretty incredible.

I love it but unfortunately I don't get out often enough. I'm always shooting around 94 so I rarely get the chance to improve. That being said, I went out a couple of weeks ago after not playing for about a year and a half and shot an 82! Go figure.

I actually like watching LPGA a bit more than the PGA. Could it be Natalie Gulbis is the reason?:smug: Maybe, but it seems like with the slower swing speeds, you can actually see the mechanics of a swing better.

Another left here. I'm about where xgabe is at. Mid nineties. 24 handicap. Love the game. Just broke my driver... :mad:

There was a practice net set up on the first Tee. It was a mat set up right handed. There as space on the other side of the rubber tee, so instead of switching the tee to the left side I took a practice swing on the right side. Subsequently, my driver smacked into the metal rim of the net and the graphite snapped in two. I'm such a tard.

So I promptly went out and bought myself a taylor made R7 driver. That'll show that stupid net. NOW WHO's laughing. Dumb net. Hah, showed you. You big bully. :D

Let me tell you, the Taylor R7 is a mean driver. I took a few swings on one at Dick's the other day, loved it, lacked the funds to purchase.

I broke my no name pitching wedge which I was very fond of (awesome feel) at the driving range. Was trying to smash one real good, I guess I missed the face, hit the heel of the club, the head of the club snapped off, ended up going about 70 yards downrange....everyone there thought it was pretty funny. Walking out there to pick it up was pretty embarrassing.

70 yards out would be a dangerous mission on most of the ranges around here. I used to try to hit the cart that was picking up range balls. Great fun with a friend to see who can hit it first. It can be hard to swing when you're laughing yourself silly. Didn't take a lot to amuse me back then, or now for that matter.

I used to play a lot. My family had a membership at one of the local courses when I was growing up and I played varsity in both high school and college. After graduating, and having to pay greens fees on my own, I all but stopped playing. I would get out maybe once or twice each year but I don't think I've played in at least three years now. My dad is retired and plays 5 days per week weather permitting (I'm talking course not closed because of frost) and he is a member at one of the nicer courses nearby. He's 81 now and I really should do more to get more rounds in with him as he's not going to be around forever.

I had hoped my kids would have an interest but they haven't thus far shown any. I still have my first set of clubs that I got when I was 6 (I just turned 48) less the 7 iron that got "missused" over the years and lost. Current irons are a set of Titleist DCI's and they're nice but I do still like the old set of forged Wilson 1200's that I played with in the 70's and 80's. I may not be able to hit the ball with those now. My woods are custom made - metal heads with Harrison 2.5 deg shafts. My swing speed with a regular driver used to be a little over 110 mph and those shafts made a huge difference in feel for me. I preferred the feel of metal shafts prior to that.

Think I'll give my dad a call.

My dad has 14 or 15 hole-in-ones. He was an excellent golfer and is now still much better than average. He needs bilateral knee replacements which limit his game quite a bit.

I suck. But I have fun whilst sucking... Kind of like with bass. :smug:

I've recently gotten back into playing. I am still young(20) but only in the last year got back into playing more often. My usual score is between 93-84 on 18 and about 43-39 on 9. I get out usually once a week alone, which is nice, calm and peaceful.

I play with a Tommy Armour Driver, Adams Golf irons and an Oddesy putter. Lately I have been playing a box of Nike balls I won at a tournament and really liking them.

I like metal shafts better too. Picked up a used Calloway Heavenwood 3 hybrid awhile back. It's my magic club. Easily over 200 yards out of a crappy lie. My kid's 3, he's got his own clubs and goes to "tiny tees" every sunday. He likes it. Almost ready to start taking him on the course with me.

well... i dont get to play much, even though i honestly live on a golf course that my parents own (Ironwood GC in Cowlesville, NY... say you play bass and you will not get any discount whatsoever :p)

I normally hit about 100 on 18, which isn't bad since i only get 18 in about 2x a year. I have a walter hagen putter, a set of Nike CPR's, and a Nike 350cor driver... I REALLY want one of those SQ sumo 5000's... u no... with the square heads? they rule.

I hooked up to the computer in a Dick's sporting goods a few weeks ago. I cant hit a driver nearly as good as i could 2 years ago (was super-flexible and i could crush one), but i had a 100 MPH swing speed and was carrying 240 with a walter hagen driver... only problem was they were all 90 yards sliced.

oh yea... i'm only 16.
