I also have 2, a black 88 Buzz and a cherry burst early 90's MVP (the serial # dates to 91, but Michael actually built it for me in about 94, as a replacement for my early 80s EL-10B, whose body wings were separating from its neck - so sad ). Both are 4-string P/J setups, with Vol/Pan/Tone controls, although the preamps are different. The MVP (TR cover says it's a Custom) has a center detent pot which seems to boost treble clockwise or boost bass counterclockwise; the Buzz seems to be a straight tone control, so I think its preamp is only providing gain. I'll try to post pictures - although neither is quite "mint" - tomorrow.
I'm currently looking for a Pentabuzz in good condition - REALLY wish I could afford that Vintage Cherry beaut pictured elsewhere on TB! Your Buzz looks to have been considerably modified - whatcha got?
2/5/08:
Located a 94 Pentabuzz "Custom" in Indianapolis & it's here now (wish I'd seen the red one that sold yesterday!!!). Peacock Blue, gold hardware, P/J, Bart NTBT pre. I haven't verified, but I think it's 17.5mm spacing. It's currently strung w/GHS Tapewounds, but that's not a sound I care for, so it'll get some Blue Nickels or DRs real soon.
