I'm considering slapping a MM humbucker in my Squier Dlx. Active IV, but I do want to get it in that "sweet spot" that MM basses are known for. The thing is, I don't have much experience handling MM basses besides actually playing them so I don't really know any specs or stuff like that. Basically I'm asking if I can replace the bridge pickup in my jazz with the humbucker in the right place without it overlapping anything.

Where is the musicman "sweet spot" in relation to an active Jazz bass?

Move it about 1 1/4" closer to the neck than the bridge pickup on a Jazz. An easier way to visualize is to look at a 55-02 or Peavey Millenium, the Music Man humbucker will be about 1-1.5" closer to the neck than the rear humbucker on those basses.
On my SR4, the center of the South coil of the pickup pole pieces (the one closest to the bridge) is 3-1/4" from the center of the E-string Saddle. The E saddle is the furthest away from the pickup as per the intonation settings.
But be careful to check that the pickup will not hit the control plate in that position. It would have on my 5-string Jazz, so I had to position it closer to the bridge. However, the 4-string Jazz has more room to play with.

Somewhere on TB someone posted an insightful graph which showed the relative pickup positions of 4 common basses side by side, drawn to scale. I forget what all four models were, but it definitely had a StingRay & a Jazz Bass. I may have even saved that pic on the computer at my studio, if I did I'll post it to this thread next time I'm there. Or do a search for "sweet spot", I'm pretty sure it was in a similarly-titled thread.
I remember a pic like that showing a Sabre, L2000 and Stingray. I don't remember a Jazz being in there, though. Maybe there's a few of those pics around.
That's a nice graphic. Someone needs to do one for a Stingray, a Lakland 55-02, a Tobias Growler, and a MTD Artist or Kingston.
On the G&L 1K, and the neck pup on the 2K and L2500, the center line of the pickup is 5 3/8" from the center of the G string saddle or 28 5/8" from the center line of the nut (these I actually measured - I got mad tape measure skills). The pickup is farther out toward the neck on a 1K vs. a single H Stingray by (I think based on searching TB for the ray pup location) 1 1/8"

But what it needs first is expanded to include P-bass, P/J bass, Second pickup on Stingray, and G&L L-2000/2500. TB needs this reference material to be cool!
I've also seen differing positions on the double-humbucker warwick models. Some are close together and some quite far apart.
whats a harmonic zone?
i've never really understood when people say about harmonic zone's because surely as soon as you fret a note the location of the strong harmonics change.
And a P-Bass? Gee, ya think?
Throwing in 35" scale basses (55-02 and MTD) would be less useful unless you scaled back the drawing about 3% to compensate for the difference.

I asked once before and as I recall the bridge pickup on an L-2000 is 30 11/16" from the nut.

I think E-A half of the P pickups is at the same place as the neck J pickup. I am speaking of the P-bass. Some PJ setups (like Fender Aerodyne) moves P pickup a bit towards the neck.
