Tonal differences between Fender Precision and Jazz basses?

What are the general differences in tone between a Fender P and J bass? I know each model within each line sounds different and has different features, but I'm looking for general comparisons...

Care to explain?

A P bass has a tubbier, more rounded tone. Overall, the sound is a bigger and bassier, but at the expense of clarity.

A J bass is a little brighter with more midtone presence and offers more clarity and articulation.

Crap! Sorry about that. I didn't realize this topic was already posted. I thought about using the search function, but I'm sure I would've got a million hits typing in "Jazz Bass" or "Precision Bass"... lol...
