Well, after much work and even more contemplation, I finally finished this hideous hellbeast. Yes, it's rough around the edges, but what the hell - it's not going in any museum.

One question, though - I need to ground the bridge and I'm wondering the best way to go about doing it. Would it be possible to ground it by connecting a wire from the metal plate over the 1/4" output to the metal roller bridge itself?

very cool,nice job.......I made one almost entirely out of chain link fence materials and tools...2" galvanized ss20 pipe for the body,a 2" steel loop cap(eye top)with the loop(eye) cut off and installed a pulley from a come-along for the"nut", a handle from the come-a-long as the whamola lever,a couple of 2" brace bands as a bridge and tailpiece and a piece of 1\16" cable as the string..take a guess at what I do for a living;) I'll try to post pics soon..my 13 y.o. son has to work the digital camera because dad is...uh....digitally challenged

I heard that Les Claypool's original Whamola was built by some fans in Vermont.
