Neat theory, but costs much more than a nice fretted and fretless bass and just gives ya a fretless with pretty high action.
well its still pretty cool and given there are hundreds of post everyday I doubt the OP waded through all of them just to avoid being flamed by the talkbass police

The search function is there for a reason, one of them being so nobody has to wade through tons of posts. It's also there to avoid being 'flamed' if that's what you want to call it.
Incidently, if my reply was a flame, you haven't been around long enough to know what a flame is.

Rotating frets=very very small frets = more mechanisms = more likely to break = needs to ship back to the company since they're the only one doing this = problems.

Id rather have a double neck bass, one fretted and one fretless than this. That would be way cooler imo.
That's a double-edged sword since you have to deal with the obvious size and weight, but the coolness factor is off the charts.
This convertible bass is a neat concept, but I don't know how well it would hold up in the long run.
