Hey, 1st page!

Here's my SPB-57 FL...It's been my only gig bass for a while.

My post in part four was deleted. I'm far too lazy to retype it.

I got my SPJ a few days ago, and it didn't need a setup. Hell, all but one string was in tune out of the box! Finish is 95% perfect (still far better than anything that's been on the wall of Guitar Center for more than a week). The pickups are fairly low output according to the VU meter on my amp, but they sound just fine.

The only odd thing is that the strings it came with had pink wrappings. Looked pretty funky on a black bass. They're still on, just to show my friends.

Hopefully I'll be able to put up pics when I get DR Black Beauties on it.

My bridge is a Kahler Trem, the Hybrid model from Wammiworld.

The bridge pickup is a DiMarzio X2N-7, made for 7 string guitars.

The controls are Vol - Vol, with a push/pull on the Vol of the X2N, for series/parallel operation.

Also, the P pickup is the SX stock one, too damn' good to change!:bassist:

If you have pics of the new headstock on an actual bass, and not just a drawing, please post a link.

I'm dying to see what this looks like on an actual bass (although I have to admit, I haven't exactly been optomistic from what I've seen in drawings)

That's looks awful on the guitar version.

I HOPE this isn't what they decide to use on the basses. While better than the "fish hook" IMO, this isn't much better.

As a long time SX supporter, I'm going to find it EXTREEMLY difficult to look past the new headstock, if it looks as bad as it does on that guitar.
