Double Bass HS Seniors of '09 where are you gonna audition?

UNT is my top choice due to its relative cheapness, and its 35 miles away:) Plus, Jeff "Banana Hands" Bradetich is the director!

If my SAT scores go up 400 points then i will consider Oberlin, TCU, UT austin,

Ive heard that UT is really great that's one of my maybes, hopefully I'm gonna check it out this fall. I've heard that Austin is a really great music town too. My teacher just had one of his other bassists get accepted at UNT, but I think he's focusing on the recording/technical side, thats another really good school.

For the folks auditioning for conservatories in '09, you should know that Jeremy McCoy (the Met Opera's assistant principal bass) will be joining the faculty of the Manhattan School of Music in Fall 2009. Definitely consider auditioning for his studio -- He is a great bass player & teacher and a very nice guy!

Geez futurebass, I thought you landed some nice post in that orchestra you auditioned for. Aim high! If you want to study music at UNT, it cannot hurt to at least audition. Everyone I talk to seems to talk about how crappy they played at their audition, no matter what it was for, but, most of the time they do get into the program and get the gig.
