The person known as "PollyBass" on talkbass took his life, last week.

This is his brother, Ryan, and in his note, he told me to post this on this website.

He said to tell everyone that "Talkbass was a huge part of my life, and almost everyone of you had a impact on my life, and even if you don't know it, helped me with alot of personal issues. Nothing makes your day like seeing bruce and brad bicker, or the great humor displayed by dave, stupid, and the rest. I hope WR is doing a great job in recordings. I know that i'm probably being selfish, but right now, this is the only way out. Thank you for the times.

Casey "Polly" Hughes."

This is hard enough as it is, so if I don't responde to questions that quickly, i'm sorry.

I am having some difficulty getting beyond this part.

We have had some discussion threads on this before,
I hope as the discussion ensues, that people who consider
similar actions come to understand the effect on everyone else whose life they have touched.

My condolences, Ryan. We are all sad he felt that he had
no other option, or someone he could talk to when he
felt despair.

I am sure those sentiments will be echoed by many here.

Time will heal the wounds.

Take care
Thor

That's just terrible news. I am so sorry to hear that. He will be missed around here, for sure. I offer my condolances to you and your family, Ryan. I only wish that we could have had the chance to help him, as I am sure you do as well. I'll be saying a prayer for all of you.

:( I never spoke with Polly other then once when he butted in to a disagreement I had with another TB member (he sided against me)... but I read most of his posts and I am sad that there will be no more from him.

and my condolences to his family and loved ones. He was being very selfish.

I used to talk with Polly a whole lot in the chat, and we both really wished he could have made it to the Mobile GTG last year to meet everyone. best of luck, Ryan. This will be a hard time for you and your family. Our thoughts are with you.
