I get weak in the knees whenever I see MTD basses. Every so often I see MTD pics on TB. I'd love to see what you consider to be the best MTD bass out there. They come in all flavors. What's your favorite? This thread has the potential to cause some serious GAS, so grab your Beano!

Here's one of my favorites:

I've heard MTD's played with a bright/clear sound, but I've heard them played with full-on booty too.

Here's another one that almost snapped my neck:

This one is gorgeous; very natural and woodsy that I could imagine playing while the sun is setting in a cabin in NH or Vermont- something I really like in a bass.

I really dug this one. I was hoping to keep it for myself but it sold 10 minutes after I photographed it. Blackened Redwood on Korina - killer!

I know this is somewhat of a threadjack, and I'm sorry for that, but is there anyplace online that sells the MTD Kingston and the Kingston Heirs besides theperfectbass.com? They took their pictures down.

They are all very nice, but that neckthrough is enough to make
one soil oneself. Anybody have any information on it? Is it just a
one-off for NAMM or somesuch, or is it possible to have one
made? I'd like to know, because if it is I have to start looking for
a second job.

It sure is a beauty. I found the pic at:

Just type in "MTD", and it will show basses for sale. It should be on the first page of results as a 2005 NAMM bass. Let me know if you have trouble finding it.

I would love an MTD; but like you, I would also need to get a 2nd job. But even then, I'd need to pay bills first. So, maybe a 2nd AND 3rd job. :hmm: Maybe I could make a deal with Mike Tobias for one of his basses. I could mow his lawn and wash his car(s) for one year. Mike, are you listening? :)
