2nd Annual NYC Talkbass Get-together - Sunday, September 18th

OK, I booked the same hall where we had the get-together last year for Sunday, September 18th, 2005, as we had been discussing in the April 29th thread.

The hall is: The Woodhaven Athletic Club
86-08 95th Avenue
Ozone Park, N.Y. 11416

I'll post a map later.

Now that we have one under our belt, we all know more of what to expect, and hopefully we'll make this one better than last year.

I have some ideas, but I'm not saying anything just yet.

So, we have almost 2 1/2 months to plan this one.

I had a great time, met a bunch of very nice people and I got a Peavey Cirrus, a bass I had been looking to buy for about a year out of last year's GTG.

Absolutely ....... I'm only in Point Pleasant, plenty of room for a body or two plus some axes ......... tolls and gas are courtesy of my company

Space shouldn't be an issue .......... I know a couple of guys wanted to see my FBB 6 and others wanted to check out the Brice Z6NT (if it's still around by that time

), I'd love to hear the 1210 .........

One thing that won't be the same as last year - the food.

Why?

Because the deli from which I got the food just closed.

They moved to Oceanside! (lousy rats :spit:

)

But, do not fear; I have plans.

Also, the cost per person last year was $20, I think it's going to be less this year.

i've been wanting to attend a GTG in so long!

pointbass and James Hart--if you fellows have some more room i'd love to join as well. i go to school in philly but my parents live in marlton. i guess i'll extend this to any other south jersey/philadelhpia TBers interested in going. of course i'll also chip in for gas, food and whatnot along the way

If Joker goes I'll probably have to go to keep him out of trouble :smug:

I'll try to make it and I'll lug along my special MTD, and the Lakie 55-94 I'm supposed to get this Friday, no guarantees though its a long time from now.

(BTW is your icon from that Neah gig?)

I definitly want to go. My wife might get a surgery the 29th of august, but if it is delayed we want to go.
We would spend 2 or 3 days in NYC.
If someone can recommand some hotels that would be nice.
