Here's my story:
As a youngster growin' up in the burbs of Cleveland I aquired a taste early in life for laying down grooves. I picked up bass at age 13 when my sister's boyfriend, bassist Clint Harris, saw me playing guitar with my unusually big mits and suggested I check out the bass instead...I fell in love with the instrument.
By 15 I was hooked up with a local rock group who'd sneak me into bars to play gigs with them, from there I was on my way to super-stardom as a rock bass god. After jumping from band to band, and delving into a wider variety of styles and technique I landed into some cool recording projects and even some theater pit stuff, I was on a roll. Those were the days...although quite short of super-stardom.
Then adulthood caught up with me and I wound up putting my musical aspirations on hold for a while, you know the story, I sold most of my gear and became a working stiff.
Which brings me to the present, I am 38 years old, I just made a major life change to turn another passion of mine (cycling) into a career. I haven't really played much in the last 7-8 years but one of my new buddies in the bike biz is an avid player and his enthusiasm has inspired me to dust off my chops and play a little.
So here I am, I don't know where I am going but I just feel there's still some music inside waiting to get out. I am gonna hang out here a bit, I hope to catch up with whats going on in the world of bass guitar and maybe offer up some input as well.
