Ampeg for certain. I'm the competition but you can't ignore historical significance. The SVT is a classic.

Its simple. Ask someone about how an Amp sounds and generally you hear:

Its like Ampeg, but clearer.

Its not like Ampeg, its more hi-fi.

Its like Ampeg, but more ballsy.

Its a very light version of an Ampeg.


Everyone uses Ampeg as a referance, almost everyone has owned one or spent enough time with them to know what the Ampeg sound is.

Jokes aside, Ampeg is the standard bass amp everywhere, as Marshall is for guitars.

That's an easy one, I think that these "standards" are more difficult in the "which guitar is the standard", as there would be a clear 50/50 between Strat and Les Paul... but for us, it's easy to say, and it sounds fat and chunky: AMPEG!
