As you all know I started a charity to help fellow musicians. Tom Bowlus (our attorney) and I have been working on the paperwork. We should finally be set in March.

We are able to accept donations already though. I will have the website finished in the next week or so (see my signature line) for normal monetary donations.

What we are looking for right now is gear. Anything that can be sold on Ebay or here on TB with the funds going to the general fund. We have several people just from TalkBass in financial need for various reasons.

PLEASE, look and see what you DON'T need (I am doing the same thing). Get it all together and contact me.

What does MY PERSONAL gear have to do with getting used gear donated to the charity I started? The used gear (or funds from its sale) will go to those that need it.

I think maybe you missed something in all this. I do not need gear for myself. In fact, I am selling some things I do not need to raise more funds for the charity.

That was the point I was trying to make. If you are selling extra gear to support your own cause then props to you. On the other hand if you were just championing a cause and keeping a small fortune in extra gear and not contributing to your own cause then something is wrong.

Not only did a I donate a nice chunk to Mike Fredericks but I also did so to Jeff's cause. I get NOTHING out of this except the feeling of doing something for someone else.

Whether your motives are altruistic or not, your blatant disregard for our rules makes your ethics questionable.

TB has no obligation to provide you with a vehicle for your charity. The least you could do is accept it with a modicum of dignity and not abuse our forums by littering them with multiple messages. It's a form of abuse.

Your quest may be worthy, even laudable. Nevertheless, I (and many others) can't help but look askew at someone who can't respect our forum's simple rules.
