Hartke Transporter Cabs

I don't know about them being "good for the money". You'd be better off looking for something a little better. I've played through the Transporter 4x10 cabinet and it doesn't sound very good to my ears and nowhere near as good as you'd sound if you bought something a little better. They break up very easy and won't handle the bottom end.

I think almost anything from Avatar, Carvin or Peavy would be a better choice. Low priced cabinets have improved for the most part since the Transporter was introduced.

I currently have a bassman 200 and I would eventually like to upgrade. I think now I may go with Avatar 2x12 plus and amp or I may go Carvin. I know they have their 2x12 combos on sale for arund $700. Just dont know which would be the best cab between Carvin and Avatar. It may be some time before I make the upgrade. If I go Avatar I will have to get me a good amp. I seen one site had the transporter 2x10 for under $150.
But I would rather spen more and get somthing that sounds better.

Agreed here as well. I had purchased a Hartke 410 TP some time ago looking for something under 90 lbs. I did think it was good for the price at the time, not having heard of Avatar.

After playing through both, I feel the Avatar was clearly worth the extra $100.00 or so. I don't think the Hartke is bad at all, although it is extremely bright - in fact it's the brightest sounding cab I've ever owned.
