Leo's Grandchildren

To the left is the Indonesian-made workhorse that is the G&L JB-2 Tribute; a perfect blend of P-bass body and J-bass neck & pickups, and great for those 4-sets-a-night gigs in strange, distant or seedier places. On the right is the Korean-made Fender Jazz 24, featuring active 2-band EQ and an uncharacteristic 24-frets. Hopefully an American-made version is forthcoming, since it really is Fender a la Warwick in terms of modern features and conveniences. I use the J24 as a workhorse for gigs at places I am more familiar with (like casinos), making the usual lineup of the band an all-Fender-double-cutaway affair. I really like the way that the FMT looks reminiscent of a just-poured black & tan (or 50/50, for my true-Irish friends).

Not pictured is the 3rd bass of my little family, but the Warwick ltd. is not a "blood relative" of these two. If there is a 4th member to be added to this group, it would likely be a G&L ASAT semi-hollow, based upon my current GAS symptoms.
