vintage stagg bass

I just bought it and the tone kills. It blows heads clean off. Neck through body, maple neck with a piece of walnut inside, ash body.

Does anyone have any info on this baby? I wonder what kind of bass did they try to copy when they designed this body shape. It's large, really large.

I'll post samples later if you wanna.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but check out Invalid Link Removed. Looks like modern (Chinese) Stagg stuff has nothing in common with 70s-80s Japanese Stagg instruments. Interesting, huh?

My vintage Stagg neckthrough bass is also listed on this site (link in my sig).
