HELP! Issues with my NA650!

I played on my NA650/D210XST-4 rig yesterday and it sounded great. I decided to restring my Jazz today, did so, and plugged it into my rig. I'm getting virtually no volume and a ton of static, especially from the tweeter.

I switched input/output connections and speakon cables and still get static. I plugged the bass into my B-50R and fresh Jazz sound. I unscrewed the jack plate to check for any loose connections and everything looked solid. Before I go any further, what would you all suggest I do?

Might be a pre-amp tube.

Does it have a tube or two?
Describe the sound as exactly as possible, how it starts, etc.

Just looked at a manual, no tubes.
Is the edge control at max?

I keep the edge set at 9:00. Dialed it to off, sound is still there.

The noise sounds like static, similar to what you hear from a radio station that's not tuned in properly. It also makes the speakers in a cab or headphones sound buzzy and farty, like a driver may be blown. It's pretty much there at any volume level, but it does seem to get worse when turning up the gain knob.

What is a filter cap? What does it do? Is it something that I can fix myself?

I posted a thread on that forum, too. I didn't ping Lane, I figured I'd just be told to send the amp in for repair.

When The filter cap went in my amp it sounded Exactly like you describe. One second quiet as a mouse the next second it sounded like loud static and if I tried to play it, it was farty and nasty. Luckly Eden had an authorized repair shop about an hour away. Had it fixed under warrenty no problem. Got it back in 3 days.

Hopefully that's not your problem.

Eden has had some CS issues as of late, and they're trying to correct the reputation. He will likely tell you to send it in for repair, but if you keep contact with him, he will also likely see to it that you're taken care of.
